DGES (Decentralised Geolocation Ecosystem) is a platform that utilises multiple blockchain networks to create a secure environment for the efficient and permanent recording, tracking, and management of geolocation-related data, without relying on intermediaries. DGES provides scalable infrastructure suitable for application developers, businesses operating in the physical sector, and consumers of goods and services. The platform's primary function is to record geolocation data for objects, content, events, and achievements, linking them to real-world locations through non-fungible tokens (NFTs) embedded with geolocation metadata. The platform is governed by a decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO).

DGES facilitates the interaction and monetisation of geolocation-based applications, enabling businesses, organisations, and users to leverage blockchain technology in practical, real-world scenarios. These applications act as a bridge between blockchain infrastructure and the physical world, serving as the primary source of liquidity within the ecosystem. Third-party developers can seamlessly integrate with the ecosystem’s smart contracts to build custom applications, set subscription fees, and charge commissions.

To accommodate diverse user needs, each application within the ecosystem can integrate with multiple blockchains and various smart contract extensions. Developers also have the flexibility to create custom smart contract extensions.

Applications can utilise both local geolocation and global mapping. Developers can interact directly with end users through the created applications or through the mediation of interested organisations.

Developers can receive grants from the DGES DAO reserve to support application development and promote their projects with the backing of the DGES community. Developers can also share their innovations with other ecosystem participants and receive a portion of the digital rights to DGES collective intellectual property in the form of ecosystem NFT tokens.

The ecosystem is open-source and aims for full decentralisation. DGES does not limit the ability of ecosystem NFT holders to own, gift, buy, and sell their tokens through any third-party platforms that support the blockchain standard in which the tokens were created.

DGES does not issue its own ERC20 tokens but uses well-known, high-capitalisation cryptocurrencies for operational purposes, allowing participants to remain independent of the ecosystem’s native token value fluctuations. If the need for a native ERC20 token within the ecosystem arises, it can be created based on a decision made by the DGES community through a vote in the DGES DAO.
